Not even sure how I came across this series. After reading the reviews for Kiss of Ice, I didn't think I'd like it, so I bought only Kiss of Fire. I liked the book from the beginning, but as soon as I met Annata and Christophe, I had to stop and read this book and then Kiss of Ice. I'm so glad I did! This book was a great introduction to the couple and laid out their issues nicely. Annie was annoying as hell, but I liked her and understood why she acted the way she did. What I didn't like is the way she treated Vivica. I'm sure that whole storyline is gonna be explored in a later book, but I was kind of thrown off by this whole storyline
Loved the stories and the characters. So glad I found this series and this author! On to the next book in the series.

Breaking the Ice St James Family edition by Lavender Parker Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Glad that the author wrote this prequel to Kiss of Ice. Christian and Annata are two of more favorite characters. I have re-read that book several times, so was excited to read this short story to further get to know the characters and how they came together. A great read.
Annata and Christophe are two interesting characters. The two characters have two very different stories and while it seems that Christophe is fantasizing about exotic chocolate it turns out that hes not. Thank goodness. This story takes some twists and turns and leads you straight into the next book. Enjoy
I like when you get the story before the story and its actually good. This is well worth the time and money. The h/h have excellent chemistry. They are sexy and very vocal about what they want.Like the fact the hero was not shy about calling it the way he sees.Loved that the heroine is very driven, but need her to scale back just a little.Overall just plain good!
The book was so good and I couldn't put the book down, she was running from love and trying to reach or be CEO of the company and didn't want to share it with the son of the owner of the company but love finally won her over since he wasn't giving up on her since he knew it was her he had wanted since he first layed eyes on her when he was interning at the company while in college.
I read "Kiss of Fire" first and wished I had read this little short prequel first - way better story than the second full-length novel. I got tired of Annie being so mean to Christophe in the second book - it was like, okay already! Do you want him or not? Because he sure wants you! I like a man who knows what he wants, but Christophe held back too much with her and all the back and forth just ruined a promising story. This story, however, satisfied my curiosity as to how they met and found themselves attracted/drawn to one another...had it ended with a HEA, it would have been perfect. Happy reading.
I'm so glad Ms. Parker decided to publish a prequel to Kiss of Ice! While I loved that book SO much, I did wonder about what happened all those years ago, why Christophe stayed so hung up on her and why Annata didn't jump on that right then and there! This story fleshed out a little more what kind of drama was going on in Annata's life at the time Christophe came around that had her more on edge than usual, and it showed that Christophe's feelings were based on more than just some quickie sex-on-a-desk in the office (although that was so hot, I'd have been thinking about it for seven years too LOL!) I'm loving the St. James family stories...keep them coming!
If you love intrigue; this is the book for you. I loved it. I was unaware that this prequel existed. I came across it by accident and I am so glad I did. I had read Kiss Of Fire and enjoyed it immensely. The emotional and mental battle that Christophe and Annata constantly waged had me totally captivated. The way the author weaves their relationship was masterful. I implore you to read this one first prior to Kiss Of Fire. I am awaiting the next two books with much anticipation. Standing ovation for Lavender Parker!!!!!!!!!!!
